Pumpkin Patch

Sat. we took the kids to the pumpkin patch. They had a great time running from pumpkin to pumpkin trying to find the perfect one. Cole slept almost the entire time so I just pushed him through the patch in his stroller. Here are some pictures of the day.

Apple Orchard

Friday night we took the kids to a local apple orchard. We got to ride out to the orchard and pick our own apples. We had a great time. Here are some of the pictures from our excursion.

Tagged

I have been tagged by my friend, Janette. I am supposed to post the fourth picture from my fourth album. Because my photo album is in serious need of organization my picture is from Christmas 2006

Reese and Riley got a little tykes car. They loved it, and were so excited they drove it around the house all day.

Daddy

A few months ago Cord was traveling a lot so the girls and I made him this smilebox. The girls helped pickout the pictures and the song.

WARNING!!! WARNING!!! This blog may contain long and boring stories. Read at own risk.

I just wanted to warn any who choose to read this blog that I am using it as a family journal and that I can ramble and be long winded. So if you do not want to read all of the verbiage just skip ahead to the cute pictures (which there will be a lot of). This blog will go in spurts from days when I post a bunch to weeks where I don't. I never know when I am going to have a spare minute so I will blog when I get the chance. I hope to not only share our chaos, but record it. Happy reading.

AS THE DAY GOES BY...

Reese and Riley a.k.a. R&R decided to take Ella potty today (I am sure it was so they could get the helper potty treat). They were such a great help until somehow in all of the excitement of three little girls Ella fell and hit her head on the Head. I heard her screaming bloody murder from the other room, and again my long lost sprinting skills returned, only this time my hurdling abilities came in handy as I had to jump a few kids, a crawling baby, and a lazy cat. By the time I got to the bathroom R&R were standing there saying, "Ella Fell, We didn't do it." It turns out Ella was fine other than a huge goose egg, and a little blood.

I layed Ella down on the couch while I went to get her some Tylenol. While I was gone R&R started fussing over her. They got her a blanket, brought her some of her elephants, and Reese even asked Ella if she wanted warm Jello (we use that to calm barfy bellies) or soda pop. Of course, Ella chose Soda. It was cute to watch them be little mother hens to their hurt chick.

Now that the dust has settled, the girls are all outside playing on the trampoline with the neighbor boys. With all of the rough house going on out there I may just have another blog entry:).

According to Ella a band aid makes everything better.

THE NOMINATION FOR WORLD'S WORST MOM...ME

Okay, I have gone against all parenting books and have been either nursing Cole to sleep or snuggling him. Ignoring the whole put your baby in his crib when he is drowsy so he learn to put himself to sleep theory. Well it has come back to bite me in the rear. After months of sleeping through the night Cole has been waking up a lot at night lately. So to try and help him sleep better I have been putting him down for naps when he is tired and letting him cry for a minute or two.

Well, today I put him down and after a few minutes he was still crying. I gave him a few more minutes thinking that he is so tired he will be out in just a second. Well, after several minutes I went upstairs to check on him and much to my shock and horror he was standing in his crib holding onto the rail for dear life. (You see he has yet to stand up or pull him self up to anything so I hadn't lowered his mattress. I was going to do it this weekend, but you never guess what I just got done doing). I didn't know I could still run so fast. I picked him up and the poor little Buddy just clung to me.

This picture was taken after the fact. (No child was injured in the taking of this or any of the following pictures).

Here he is in his safer crib.

A moment to reflect

Today for preschool Reese and Riley's class is going to an assisted living facility here in town. They will be visiting with the residents each month for the school year. Today they were supposed to bring a baby picture to show the residents to help get to know each other. I will admit that I am not a scrapbooker, hence my photo's do not have a lot of organization. So I spent most of the morning trying to get baby pictures. After getting out all of the pictures (both digital and prints) I realized that we don't have very many of them alone. Thank goodness for cropping.

As I was looking through all of the pictures, I can't believe that my little babies are four. It just seems like yesterday that we were at the doctor's office expecting bad news when the Dr. said one sentence that I will never forget,"I can't believe they missed BOTH heartbeats!" From that point our life has never been the same.

They say that you will never understand twins until you live it. I can say that is definitely true, and I am so grateful I have had the opportunity to have the experience. It has been a fun, crazy, nerve racking, hectic, and ever changing ride that I am grateful to have had.

The previous post is what we were working on for school (they each only took in one page).

The begining

Well here it goes our inaugural post on the blog. After years of mass emails and sporadic family updates. I am going to try and keep a family blog to keep a constant and more accurate record of the chaos we call life.
