A day at the Farm

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to a local farm with Tate's Kindergarten class. It was a fun little trip. I hadn't been on a school bus in a long time. The kids had a great time and I really enjoyed learning about the different aspects of the farm. It was a fun little setup where the kids got to walk around and interact with the farm. They got to pick vegetables and eat them, pet the sheep, try and pick up the chickens (in reality it was chasing chickens), milk a pretend cow, brush a calf, and run on the rolls of hay. After it was all over they got to pick out there very own little pumpkin. They kids had a great time. The best part was by the time we got back on the bus the kids were worn out.

Here are a few picture of my cute Farmer Tate.

The whole class.

What a week!!!

Well, It has been a crazy week and I realize that I have yet to sit down and blog any of it. In the past two weeks I started and finished sewing three costumes (as most of you know I am not a seamstress, I struggle to sew on a button. I usually just use a safety pin.) we had trunk or treat at church, carved pumpkins, picked my parents up from the airport (YEAH!!!), Went on a fieldtrip to the farm with a whole lot of kindergarteners, I helped at three different class parties, had the real trick or treating, I got a black eye, Kinley had her 7th birthday, was able to go to school and have lunch with Kinley for her birthday, and the list could go on.

I have a bunch of pictures and hopefully throughout this next week I can get all of last week caught up...

I will say that having my parents here has been great. I hate that we live far away from family, but I do love the fact that when my parents come they get to stay for a longer period of time. It is so much fun to let the kids spend quality time with their grandparents. Of course, all of the help around the house is fabulous, not to mention all of the slave labor they put in on helping finish our basement.

Black Eye

Well this past Sunday I got my first black eye. I had just finished nursing Cole in my bed and we were just laying there. He was wiggling around and laughing when out of nowhere he gave me a headbutt. He caught me just right below my eye. It hurt me, but Cole wasn't even phased,he just kept laughing and playing.

Well, I got up put on my glasses and went down stairs to get the kids breakfast. I got everyone ready for church. Because I was running late the kids and my parents walked to church. After they left I started the rush to get myself ready. I put my contacts in and when I looked in the mirror to put my makeup on I was shocked to see that my eye was a little puffy and starting to turn colors. I had completely forgotten the headbutt.

After seven years of taking serious blows from the kids, the one that wasn't that bad, was the one to make a mark. This picture is taken on Tuesday night. I am hoping that the color will completely go away soon. Unfortunately, since this picture was taken it has gotten darker.
